Welcome to the Dragon Ball Z board.
This is the series that built the Western market. Before Naruto, before One Piece, before anyone was talking about anime as a mainstream thing — there was Dragon Ball Z on Toonami, every weekday afternoon, with the Rock the Dragon theme and the Ocean dub that replaced everything violent with something slightly less violent and still somehow worked.
What we cover here:
The original Toei Animation run. The Funimation dub history. The Ocean Group dub. The difference between the original Japanese broadcast and what aired on Cartoon Network. The saga structure — Saiyan, Namek, Garlic Jr. (filler), Android, Cell, Majin Buu. The movies and where they fit. Dragon Ball GT discussion is allowed but marked as separate canon.
The power level question:
Yes you can discuss power levels here. No we will not get mad about it. This is the correct and natural use of a Dragon Ball Z forum.
History note:
The Funimation dub starting from the Saiyan saga is one of the most significant localisation projects in the history of anime in the West. The decision to keep dubbing even after the first Funimation/Sephiroth run was cancelled by Saban is the reason the franchise exists in North America the way it does. That story is worth knowing.
Come in. The gravity chamber is open.
