A lot of work happened this week.
Most of it you'll probably never notice.
But the site's getting better.

Whats new? IDK, Lore n' Stuff

A bunch of episode descriptions have been rewritten across the site. Some were old, some were vague, some were technically correct but clearly written from fifty feet away from the actual episode. I've been going back through them properly, episode by episode, making sure the descriptions actually explain what happens instead of vaguely announcing that "the battle continues."

If you can figure out which ones changed without me telling you, congratulations. You may actually be the second person visiting this website.

Anime Lore pages are continuing to be improved too

I've been writing new Lore, cleaning older pages, expanding entries that were a little too thin, and doing a lot more interlinking between related characters, episodes, concepts, fights, organizations and story events.

The idea is that Lore shouldn't just be a pile of separate encyclopedia entries. If you're reading about one part of a story, you should be able to naturally fall into the next relevant piece. A technique can lead into the fight where it mattered. A character relationship can lead into the event that changed it. An organization can connect to the people actually driving it.

Basically, I'm slowly turning the Lore section into the giant interconnected anime rabbit hole I would have loved finding on somebody's fansite twenty years ago.

Not everything is invisible, I did actually change a few things you could see too.

The homepage feature box has changed. The old From the Old Web idea, which was going to lean more heavily into Wayback Machine discoveries and old website archaeology, has been replaced with Latest Review. This fits AnimeHistory a lot better.

Gallery contributions

Members can now upload images through Contribute to Gallery, and uploaded images can be used as stickers around the site, including comments, forum replies and gallery comments.

There are also now personal member galleries for uploaded photos.
That page is functional, but very much a WORK IN PROGRESS.

Both pages exist. Both work. Neither one should be taken as the finished version of what they're eventually supposed to become. I'm still figuring out how they should be organized, what information belongs there and, probably most importantly, how they should actually look.

So feel free to poke around.

Seriously.

If something looks weird, unfinished, confusing, cool, stupid, useful, or you just have an idea for it, comment below and tell me. 😄

There are also a ton of smaller corrections happening underneath everything. Episode titles. Numbering problems. Weird old metadata. Arc boundaries. Links that went somewhere stupid.

So yeah.
