An old friend of Onizuka and Ryuji from their delinquent days who somehow grew up to become a police officer without becoming especially respectable. Saejima is opportunistic, shameless, and perfectly willing to bend his job toward whatever dubious scheme seems profitable, which makes him a natural survivor from Onizuka's old world. His late arrival in the anime expands the circle of people who knew Onizuka before he became a teacher, and he is still willing to show up when that old friend genuinely needs backup.

Miyabi's most effective late-series attack starts with the money collected for the third-year class trip. The cash disappears after Kouji Fujiyoshi is entrusted with it, and a setup leaves Onizuka looking like the adult who squandered the fund.
The Breakdown
Onizuka promises the students an Okinawa trip anyway and spends Episodes 29 through 33 trying to replace roughly ¥8 million while Miyabi keeps sabotaging every escape route. Fujiyoshi's despair, Urumi's discovery of the setup, Saejima's dubious help and Onizuka's refusal to retreat turn a money scandal into another test of whether Class 3-4 will believe the institution's version of him or what they have actually seen.
