Sure, he might spend a lot of time tossing Senzu beans from the sidelines while the Saiyans go wild, but let's not forget he invented the Destructo Disc! Plus, he managed to win over Android 18, which is arguably the greatest victory in the entire series. Krillin always brings that much-needed relatable, human perspective when the fights start getting completely out of hand.
