Exsedol is a living database of galactic history, and he is the first Zentradi to warn that humans might possess "Protoculture", the forgotten, world-shaping force of art and emotion. After undergoing micronization to peacefully board the SDF-1, his awkward, purely intellectual curiosity about human customs makes him a brilliant comedic and diplomatic bridge between species.

Why it matters
The series does not require a complete ancient-history lecture before viewers can understand the conflict. The emotional truth arrives first: these peoples are close enough to share culture and build families. The historical explanation catches up later.
