MISAO MAKIMACHI

Young Oniwabanshi kunoichi who grew up in the organization and has spent years searching for Aoshi on her own. Energetic, loud, throwing knives and a short blade and a complete absence of self-preservation instinct. Her feelings for Aoshi run the length of the Kyoto arc as a thread the show handles with considerably more care than the comedy around Misao suggests it will bother with. She is funnier and sadder than the first few episodes indicate. That gap is the point.
