JIN
JI
Jin is the cheerful wind user from Team Masho whose match with Yusuke feels more like two friends discovering each other in the middle of a tournament than a battle between enemies. He flies by controlling air currents, forms whirlwinds around his fists and genuinely enjoys finding an opponent strong enough to make him work. That enthusiasm survives even when the tournament committee manipulates the result against Team Urameshi. Jin's complete lack of bitterness makes him immediately likable and one of the arc's clearest fan favorites. He later returns as part of the group trained by Genkai and recruited through Kurama during the Demon World power struggle. By then he is dramatically stronger but emotionally almost unchanged: still grinning, still eager to fight and still treating combat as something exciting rather than hateful.

Open →Jin and Yusuke genuinely enjoy fighting each other. Jin's wind control keeps him airborne, his Tornado Fist can redirect Yusuke's attacks, and Yusuke finally answers with the Spirit Wave.
Yusuke wins the physical contest. The tournament committee then uses a technicality to disqualify him anyway. The result is one of the arc's clearest reminders that the bracket is being administered by people who want Team Urameshi to lose.

What changed
By this point the team understands that beating the person in front of them may not be enough. They also have to survive the institution running the tournament.

Open →Jin's wind control lets him fly, redirect blasts and attack from angles Yusuke cannot easily follow. Unlike many tournament opponents, Jin is visibly enjoying the fight without hating the person across from him.
The Breakdown
Yusuke eventually uses the Spirit Wave to counter Jin's double Tornado Fist and knock him out of the ring. The physical victory is clean. The tournament committee's decision afterward is not. A technical disqualification steals the result from Team Urameshi, separating "won the fight" from "received the point."
