A wicked, parasitic alien wizard who inherited his father Bibidi's dark magic. Babidi's primary power is his ability to exploit the hidden malice in the hearts of powerful warriors, placing them under his mind-control "Majin" spell to boost their strength. Despite his frail, insect-like appearance, his manipulative schemes , most notably corrupting Vegeta , directly lead to the resurrection of the ancient terror, Majin Buu.

Babidi's plan is simple enough: steal enough energy to wake Majin Buu. The interesting part is what he accidentally finds in Vegeta.
The spell does not manufacture Vegeta's resentment. It gives him permission to indulge it. Vegeta wants the old obsession back. He wants Goku without families, children or seven years of change sitting between them.

Why it matters
Majin Vegeta works because the possession is not a replacement personality. Babidi finds a weakness Vegeta already knows is there, and Vegeta uses Babidi as an excuse to reopen it.
