YAMATO
YA
Yamato is an ANBU shinobi assigned to lead the re-formed Team 7 while Kakashi recovers. He is one of the few people alive able to use Wood Style because he survived Orochimaru's childhood experiments with Hashirama Senju's cells. That ability makes him especially valuable around Naruto, since his Wood Style can suppress the Nine-Tails' chakra when Naruto begins losing control. Yamato is more serious than Kakashi and has absolutely no problem weaponizing a terrifying facial expression to keep his team in line, but he gradually settles into the group's strange rhythm. He also helps Naruto with the demanding nature-transformation training that produces the Rasenshuriken, giving him a role that extends well beyond simply filling Kakashi's chair.
