HITORIGA SPOILER!
HI
Hitoriga is the Anten Seven member whose history belongs to Suzuka long before Gene ever reaches the Galactic Leyline. A swordsman and Tao practitioner, he killed Suzuka's teacher and family, then left her with a reason to keep sharpening the style that eventually made Twilight Suzuka feared across the underworld. He is introduced with the rest of Hazanko's assassins, but the television series saves the real confrontation for the Leyline maze. There, Hitoriga uses Tao magic, swordsmanship and shape-changing tricks to turn the fight into something personal rather than merely another obstacle between Gene and Melfina. Suzuka defeats him with the technique she developed specifically for the day she would face him again. For a character who spends most of the series refusing to explain herself, Hitoriga is the rare enemy who exposes exactly what part of Suzuka's past she never stopped carrying.

Open page →The Anten Seven are introduced as one elite group, but the memorable members are built around different kinds of encounters.
Leilong turns assassination into a conversation about surviving too many duels. Iraga hides inside a tournament. Hanmyo is a grappler pilot Jim likes before either knows who the other is. Hitoriga belongs to Suzuka's past. Tobigera can be threatening and ridiculous in the same episode.

Why it worked
The group gives Hazanko reach without forcing the series into seven identical boss fights.
The crew keeps meeting the Kei Pirates through different genres of episode, which makes the organization feel embedded in the world rather than parked at the end of a dungeon.

Suzuka joins Gene's orbit with an entire life already behind her, and Hitoriga is one of the pieces she does not explain until it becomes impossible to avoid.
Inside the Galactic Leyline, their fight is not about Gene's ship or Melfina. It belongs to Suzuka.

The Breakdown
Hitoriga's connection to her past turns the encounter into the kind of duel Suzuka has been preparing for long before the Outlaw Star existed as a crew.
Why it matters
The finale gives Suzuka something better than standing beside Gene during his climax. It gives her a conflict that proves she was never just another weapon Gene collected.
