MELFINA SPOILER!

Melfina wakes from a sealed container with almost no memory of why she exists, then discovers that everyone chasing her seems to know more about her purpose than she does. She is a biological android created alongside the XGP15A-II and designed to interface directly with its navigation system, making her essential to reaching the Galactic Leyline. That technical purpose never defines the person she becomes. Melfina is gentle, curious and painfully aware that other people keep treating her as equipment, property or a key. Life aboard the Outlaw Star gradually gives her friendships, choices and a sense of self that no designer programmed for her. Her bond with Gene becomes central because he ultimately has to see her not as the mystery Hilda left behind, but as someone entitled to decide what she wants.
