Karl's partner in the surveillance operation surrounding Lain and the Knights. Lin is quieter and more procedural, usually acting as part of the pair rather than seeking direct contact with Lain. As control over the Wired collapses, the two men discover that being observers offers little protection from the system they were assigned to monitor.
