CERBERUS (KERO)

Cardcaptor Sakura · Supporting / Guardian Beast and Snack-Fueled Mentor

The guardian of the Clow Book who wakes up looking less like a legendary beast and more like a tiny winged plush toy. Kero appoints Sakura as the Cardcaptor, explains the rules when he remembers them, and then settles comfortably into her bedroom, where video games and sweets become nearly as important as magical duty. His Osaka-accented enthusiasm and enormous ego make him an unreliable source of dignity but a dependable friend when Sakura is actually in danger. As more Clow Cards return, the little mascot form also begins hinting at the much greater power of Cerberus, the Beast of the Seal.

The Clow Cards Are Living Magic

Open →
Clow Cards are not passive spells waiting for someone to pick them up. Once Sakura opens the Clow Book and releases them, the cards move through Tomoeda according to their own powers and temperaments. Some cause danger immediately, some hide, some imitate people, and some form attachments to the people they encounter. That is why Sakura's job is never as simple as locating an object and putting it back in a book. She has to recognize what kind of magic she is dealing with and respond to the card as an active presence.
Why it matters
The card hunt works because each capture is a small problem with its own rules. Sakura becomes a better Cardcaptor by learning those rules instead of treating every card like the same enemy.

Debut: Ep 001 - Sakura and the Mysterious Magic Book

The Four Elemental Cards

Wind · Water · Fire · Earth Open →
Windy, Watery, Firey and Earthy sit near the center of the Clow system. Their powers repeatedly become the answer to larger threats, and the last two captures are tied directly to Cerberus regaining his full strength. Sakura does not collect them in a neat elemental sequence. She grows into a deck where the strongest cards become tools she can combine with subtler abilities.
Why it matters
The elementals mark the scale of Sakura's growth. Watery is a terrifying early obstacle; by the Final Judgment, Sakura is commanding elemental magic against Yue.

Firey and Earthy Restore Cerberus

SPOILER! Open →
Firey is one of Sakura's largest battles before the Final Judgment, and capturing it restores part of Kero's lost power. Earthy is the final uncaptured Clow Card. When Sakura restrains Earthy with Wood and seals it, the completed elemental balance allows Kero to return fully to the form of Cerberus. The deck is finally complete, but the reward immediately turns into a warning: completing the cards triggers the Final Judgment.
What changed
The card hunt ends the instant Earthy is sealed. Sakura's real test begins that same night.
