LUST SPOILER!

Lust
LU

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood · Antagonist

The homunculus who operates as Father's most visible agent in the early series. Ultimate Shield extends her fingers into hardened lances. Composed, precise, present in the scenes that establish what the homunculi are capable of and what they are willing to do. Brotherhood's Lust is less philosophical than the 2003 version and more straightforwardly dangerous, which suits the faster pace the series operates at. Her confrontation with Mustang is one of the most viscerally memorable sequences Brotherhood produces and it tells you everything you need to know about what Mustang is capable of when the situation removes his restraint.

Extending fingertips · the first Homunculus the heroes permanently exhaust

Lust extends her fingertips into blades capable of piercing bodies and barriers at range. Her calm control makes her one of the conspiracy's most effective field agents during the early story.

Mustang's fight with her establishes the practical limit on Homunculus regeneration. He does not discover one magic weak point. He kills her body over and over until the Philosopher's Stone sustaining that regeneration can no longer rebuild it.
Why it matters
Lust's death changes the audience's relationship to the Homunculi. They are extraordinarily difficult to kill, not literally impossible to kill.

Episode 19

Mustang kills Lust's body repeatedly until the Philosopher's Stone sustaining her can no longer reconstruct it.
The Breakdown
The fight teaches the useful rule. Homunculus regeneration is extraordinary, but not free or infinite. Every recovery consumes part of the finite reservoir inside the Stone.
Why it matters
Brotherhood makes "immortality" look less like invulnerability and more like having many lives available to spend.

3rd Laboratory Subterranean Compound · Decisive Mustang Victory

After Lust pierced Jean Havoc's spine and impaled Mustang's chest, Mustang used his gloves to cauterize his own wound with flame alchemy. Tracking Lust down, he carved a transmutation circle directly onto the back of his hand with a kunai.
The Breakdown
Mustang unleashed a continuous, high-intensity volley of fire blasts at point-blank range, incinerating Lust's physical body over and over until her Philosopher's Stone ran completely out of souls, burning her into ash.
