His gentle nature prevents him from executing his enemies out of malice, preferring to act as a silent shield. He throws his physical body directly into the path of Kakashi's lightning blade to safeguard his master, defining the ultimate metric of loyalty and sacrifice for the early generation.

Zabuza continues fighting until Naruto's words tear through his mercenary facade, prompting a dying Zabuza to take a kunai in his mouth and slaughter Gatō and his mercenaries.
