Kami enters the tournament inside a human body because he believes sealing Piccolo is his responsibility. Piccolo answers the Mafuba with the Reverse Mafuba and turns the Guardian's own solution against him.
The Breakdown
This fight makes the relationship between Kami and Piccolo a practical problem, not just mythology. The old generation's containment strategy fails in public. Goku is left to solve the threat by fighting Piccolo directly instead of putting him back in a bottle.
23rd Tournament Final · Episodes 143–148
The last great fight of original Dragon Ball starts in a tournament ring and ends in a crater. Giant-form tricks, the Super Kamehameha, Kami's rescue, mass destruction and increasingly brutal injuries keep stripping away the rules until only the tournament's ring-out condition remains.
The Breakdown
Piccolo thinks the fight is over after crippling Goku. Goku wins by revealing one more thing he learned during the time skip: flight. It is a perfect ending for the original series. The child who once needed Nimbus to leave the ground wins the World Martial Arts Tournament under his own power.
