Killer B is the jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails, Gyuki, and one of the first people Naruto meets who has built a genuine partnership with the tailed beast inside him. He is also a rapper, an enthusiastic notebook poet and a swordsman capable of using seven blades at once in a style strange enough to disrupt even Sasuke's Sharingan. B's control over Gyuki makes him a target for both Taka and the Akatsuki, but it also makes him uniquely qualified to teach Naruto how to confront the Nine-Tails instead of simply suppressing it. Beneath the constant rhymes is an experienced shinobi who understands the loneliness of being a jinchuriki and the freedom that becomes possible once hatred is no longer the only relationship between host and beast.

Obito does not declare the Fourth Shinobi World War because the Five Great Nations invade Akatsuki territory. He declares it after the Kage refuse to surrender Naruto and Killer B, the two remaining jinchūriki he still needs for the Eye of the Moon Plan. The war begins as a demand for two people and immediately forces villages with generations of hostility to decide whether protecting them is worth fighting together.
What changed
The Five Kage Summit was supposed to coordinate a response to Akatsuki. It ends by creating something the shinobi world had never sustained before: a military alliance of the major villages against a common enemy.

The alliance begins the war by keeping its two most valuable fighters away from it. Naruto and Killer B are concealed because losing either one risks completing Akatsuki's collection of tailed-beast chakra. From the commanders' perspective, protecting them is more important than the battlefield advantage their power could provide.
Why it worked
For as long as their location stays secret, Akatsuki cannot finish the plan that caused the war. The strategy fails only when keeping Naruto uninformed becomes impossible and he chooses to enter the battlefield himself.
Shadow Clones · Hostile-Intent Sensing · Multiple Fronts Reinforced at Once
Naruto does not simply arrive at one battlefield and become its strongest fighter. He sends chakra-enhanced shadow clones to different fronts, allowing one person to reinforce multiple divisions while also identifying disguised White Zetsu by sensing their hostile intent. His arrival changes the alliance from an army trying to survive separate crises into an army that can suddenly share the same elite asset across those crises.
Why it matters
This is one of the few moments where Naruto's signature technique becomes a strategic resource at army scale rather than just a combat trick.

The Eight-Tails mission strips away the idea that Taka is just Sasuke plus three assistants. Killer B overwhelms him badly enough that survival becomes a team effort. Karin keeps people alive, Jugo gives up part of himself to repair Sasuke, and Suigetsu puts his own body between the team and Gyuki. Sasuke, in turn, keeps choosing to pull them back together instead of abandoning the mission's casualties.
Why it matters
The Combat Ledger can explain how the fight works. The important thing here is what it reveals: Taka stays alive because the four have become mutually dependent, and Sasuke is still capable of valuing that bond.

Sasuke led Taka to capture the Eight-Tails, but Killer B overwhelmed Sasuke's Sharingan using his eccentric Seven-Blade Acrobat Style and Version 2 Bijuu Cloak.
The Breakdown
Killer B mortally wounded Sasuke twice (requiring Jugo's flesh transfer and Karin's chakra healing to save him). When Sasuke unlocked Amaterasu to burn Gyūki, Killer B used a severed tentacle decoy to fake his capture and slip away to enjoy a rap vacation.
Bijuu Hunt Saga · Lightning Country River · Raikage Alliance Victory
Kisame tracked Killer B and merged with Samehada to form a giant aquatic dome, exhausting B's chakra reserves in an underwater fight.
The Breakdown
Samehada grew enamored with Killer B's sweet Lightning chakra and betrayed Kisame. Raikage A arrived on the field, coordinating with Killer B to execute a double Lariat that decapitated Kisame's clone decoy (a Zetsu clone engineered to infiltrate the Cloud).
