A high elf from the Forest of No Return, Deedlit leaves her isolated homeland because she wants to understand the wider world instead of watching her people retreat from it forever. She is graceful with a blade, deeply attuned to nature spirits and far more experienced than Parn when the two first meet, which makes his stubborn courage both infuriating and strangely appealing to her. Deedlit can be proud, sharp-tongued and openly impatient with dwarven sensibilities, but she is also one of the party's most perceptive members. Her growing affection for Parn gives the OVA much of its warmth, while her long-lived elven nature eventually makes her important to forces far darker than either of them expected.

While armies fight over Lodoss, Wagnard is listening for something older beneath Marmo: Kardis, the goddess of destruction. His plan requires power, relics and a high elf sacrifice, which makes Deedlit a target long after the War of Heroes itself has ended.

Why it matters
Beld wants to conquer Lodoss. Wagnard is willing to risk destroying it. That difference is what turns Marmo's internal power struggle into the OVA's final crisis.
Pirotess serves Marmo as a dark elf warrior, but her most important loyalty in the OVA is to Ashram himself. She fights Deedlit, tries to seize her for Wagnard's plans, and repeatedly puts herself between Ashram and death at Fire Dragon Mountain.
The relationship becomes clearest during the battle with Shooting Star. Pirotess saves Ashram more than once, and Ashram finally responds to feelings he had kept buried beneath duty. The moment lands because it happens in the middle of a mission for Beld's legacy, just as Ashram begins to understand that loyalty to the dead can cost him the living person beside him.
