For a story full of divine systems and impossible magic, the emotional object at the center of the ending is something Keiichi earns with ordinary work.
The Temple Becomes Home
Open →The first practical consequence of Keiichi's wish is losing his dorm room. Women are not allowed there, and the force maintaining the contract is not interested in making an exception for college housing rules. Keiichi and Belldandy end up at an abandoned temple, turning what could have been a one-scene supernatural gag into a shared domestic life.
The temple matters because the OVA keeps returning to it as the place where the impossible becomes ordinary. Meals, repairs, arguments, visiting siblings and divine emergencies all happen in the same rooms. By the end, Belldandy is not simply a goddess staying near Keiichi because of a wish. She is part of a household that the two of them built around that wish.
