The young swordsman at the center of Record of Lodoss War, Parn begins his journey wearing his late father's armor and carrying more determination than experience. He wants to restore his family's honor, but the quest quickly grows beyond that personal goal as Marmo's invasion pulls him into the War of Heroes. Parn is impulsive, idealistic and sometimes painfully obvious about what he thinks a hero should look like, yet that sincerity is also why people trust him. His bond with Deedlit becomes the emotional spine of the OVA, while encounters with Fahn, Kashue, Ashram and Beld steadily force him to grow into the kind of knight he originally only knew how to imitate.

Why it matters
Ashram is Parn's rival because both men inherit unfinished legacies. Parn carries his father's armor and Fahn's example. Ashram carries Beld's sword and Beld's ambition.
Ashram reaches Fire Dragon Mountain expecting the Scepter of Domination to become the weapon that lets him fulfill Beld's ambition. Instead, the chaos around Shooting Star gives Wagnard's side the opening it needs. A spy secures the relic, and by the time the survivors return from the mountain Wagnard is the one drawing power from it.
The theft changes the purpose of the Scepter completely. In Ashram's hands it would have been a tool of conquest. In Wagnard's hands it becomes part of the machinery for reaching Kardis.

What changed
The contest for Lodoss stops being about who should rule it and becomes a race to prevent someone from awakening a power that could erase the question entirely.
Wagnard's endgame is a resurrection ritual beneath Marmo. Deedlit is taken as the high elf sacrifice, the Scepter supplies power, and the ceremony moves deeper into the buried darkness under the island while Parn's allies fight to reach her.
The scale of the ritual is visible above and below ground. Narse rises to guard Marmo. Undead creatures keep returning. Mycen arrives to fight the dark dragon. At the altar, Ashram attacks Wagnard for his own reasons while Parn is trying to save Deedlit.

Why it matters
The final battle works because several stories meet at one place: Parn and Deedlit, Ashram and Beld's legacy, Wagnard and Kardis, and the dragons of Lodoss. Nobody arrives for exactly the same reason.
